What is CSS?

CSS is the MAPPS Customer Self Service Portal. It provides our customers online access to the County’s permitting and planning related information. CSS allows them to apply for plan reviews, permits, specific business licenses, request inspections, pay invoices and to follow along with their application status.

How do I access CSS?

Anyone with an Internet connection and an internet browser (Google Chrome is recommended for optimal use) can access MAPPS at the following link:

What information can I find in CSS?

Certain information can be searched and viewed without registering a MAPPS CSS account. You can search for and view public records related to permits, plans, inspections, code cases and business licenses, such as issued permits. The MAPPS CSS has a search function and a map feature that allows users to explore and search for information via the map.

How do I create a CSS account?

Registering a MAPPS CSS account is required in order to apply for a plan review, permit, or business license, request an inspection or to pay an invoice. You can instantly register an account by going to the login section in the top right corner of the CSS screen clicking on “Guest” and selecting “Register”. Registering a MAPPS CSS account

How can I update my account information?

You can update your account information, such as “Personal Info” and “Addresses” that you entered when you created your MAPPS CSS account at any time by accessing the “My Account” page from the login section in the top right corner of the CSS screen. You must first log in to the system to see the “My Account” option in the drop-down list when clicking on your name.  update my account information

You can also add any optional information under “Personal Info” and “Addresses” you may have skipped during the initial registration process in the “My Account” page.

What is the CSS Dashboard?

As a registered CSS user, you have access to your very own Dashboard which you can access by clicking on “My Dashboard” from the CSS homepage tiles or clicking on “Dashboard” in the CSS screen’s main header menu. CSS Dashboard

The CSS Dashboard allows users to see a visual representation of all your permits, plans, inspections, licenses and invoices. The dashboard displays data that is relevant to the logged in user based on applications they have submitted or cases they were added to as a contact.

What is “My Work”?

As a registered user, the menu item “My Work” will be added to the top menu bar for CSS.  You can access “My Work” either by clicking directly on the link in the top menu bar or by clicking on any of the links the CSS Dashboard.  My Work


“My Work” provides access to the following: invoices, permits, plans, (business) licenses and inspections associated with your account. A separate tab is available to view each of these with the ability to selects specific cases or records for more details and available actions. Please note that by default you will see “Active” cases displayed in each tab. To see all cases related to your account, select “All” under “Display”.
