Troubleshooting common login issues

If you experience any issues while trying to create a MAPPS Customer Self Service login, you can find detailed step by step instructions at the bottom of this page, as well as in the downloadable and printable “Troubleshooting common login issues” Guide for help. This includes instructions on how to get your user name emailed to you in case you forgot it and how to reset your password.

Step by step instructions for creating a MAPPS login

Invalid Username or Password Message

  1. Access the CSS website by going to  MAPPS1 HOW TO REGISTER
  2. Click the Login Drop-down located on the top right-hand corner of the web page.1 HOW TO login guest
  3. If you attempt to log into the CSS online system and receive the following Warning Message “Invalid Username or Password”, it could mean one of the following:
    1. Username or Password entered was incorrect
    2. The user account was never created
    3. The user account was not entirely created/validatedInvalid
  4. Click Close on the warning you have received
  5. Click one of the following options to correct the issue:login
    1. Click Forgot your password? Reset it – if you think you have the correct Username but you’re not sure if you remember the correct Password
      Enter your email address and click Submit. You should receive an email to reset your password.reset
    2. Click Forgot your username? Email it – if you’re not sure if you entered the correct Username.
      Enter your email address and click Submit. You should receive an email with your username.email it

    3. If you do not receive an email to reset your password or an email with your username, this means one of two things:

      1. You did not complete the process of setting up a new account

Verify your MAPPS Customer Self Service Account

If you have tried doing all the steps above you can validate your account to see if it exists by executing the following the procedure.

How to verify your CSS Account

  1. Access the CSS website by going to  MAPPS
  2. Click on Guest in the upper right-hand corner of the page.1 HOW TO REGISTER
  3. From the drop-down list click on Register.1 HOW TO REGISTER guest
  4. On the Registration Screen complete the following:
    1. Click the Checkbox to the left of – Please Acknowledge that the information entered is correct and valid.
    2. Enter a valid email address
    3. Click Next.3 checkbox
    4. If you receive the message “This email address is in use.” This means an account already exists in the system and most likely the password or username has been forgotten. Please go to Section A under Troubleshooting  for the procedure for resetting your password or finding your username.B4d reg
  5. If you receive the message “Please check your email…” then go check your email for an invitation.B5
  6. Once you have received the email, open the email and click Confirm.4 email
  7. Click on the reCAPTCHA box to verify that you are not a robot5 recaptcha
  8. Enter a Username to be utilized for logging into CSS (Note: The username can be your email address.)6 username
  9. Enter a Password and Confirm Password 
    • Note: The password must be at least 10 characters long. Eight (8) of the characters must be ALPHA characters (letters) with one (1) of the eight (8) characters being a capital letter. In addition, at least one (1) number must be included as well as one (1) special character (. *! #) Example: Testpass02!7 confirm
  10. Click Next save buttonclick continue
    • If there is no NEXT button but instead it has been replaced by a box asking “Is this You?” the system has recognized your email address as an existing contact in MAPPS. This may be the case if you were added by the County as a contact on a case in the system. You will be able to complete your account creation with choosing a username and password. If you were added to an existing case in the system, you will see this in your CSS dashboard once you are logged in.

  11. Enter all required fields. (Note: The required fields are marked by a red asterisk (*)). From the Contact Preference drop-down select your preferred communication type and click Next.registration
  12. Enter your address, and click Submitaddress
  13. You have Successfully re-registered for your CSS account and will be redirected to the Home page.success
