FD Compressed Gas

Overview

A Compressed Gases Permit is required:

  1. To store, use, or handle at normal temperatures and pressures compressed gases in excess of the amounts listed in NFPA 1, Table 1.12.8(a).  
  2. When the compressed gases in use or storage exceed the amounts listed in NFPA 1, Table 1.12.8(a), a permit is required to install, repair, abandon, remove, place temporarily out of service, close or substantially modify a compressed gas system.

Apply online at the MAPPS Customer Self Service portal.

Approving Agency

The Maui Fire Prevention Bureau is authorized to approve these permits.

Processing Time

All permits are reviewed according to the chronological order in which they are received by our office.

Duration of Approval

Dependent on plan review and inspection results.

Fees

The permit fee is $100.00.   Fees can be paid on MAPPS Customer Self Service portal or at the Prevention Bureau by cash, check, or money order to the County of Maui.
